The Richards Family // Alberta Portrait Photographers

Josh and Melissa have a fairy tale love story. She is from Lethbridge, and he is from Australia. She was visiting her sister in Australia and met Josh while she was there. Josh was the best man in Melissa's sister's wedding, and she was the maid of honor, so naturally they fell in love, got married, moved to Australia and had a bunch of cute babies. :) Melissa and I have been good friends since high school and it has been amazing to watch her grow as a person, and as a wife and mommy. While they were visiting Canada this year, we took the opportunity to get some quick shots of their adorable little family. We miss you guys, and wish you lived closer!

There is something so peaceful, and cozy about Autumn. Now that Fall has officially arrived, we wanted to pass on some inspiriation for this seasons weddings.

We can't think of a better symbol of Fall than golden leaves. These leaf escort cards are a   fabulous way of incorporating nature into your wedding decor. They are simple, easy of the wedding budget, and down right adorable!

My favorite thing about Autumn is pulling out all the comfy sweaters and cardigans that have been hanging out in the closet for the summer. So naturally, one of my favorite Fall wedding trends is the colored cardi over top of your wedding dress! It's such a fabulous way to add a pop of color to your wedding photos, and to show a little bit of your personal style at the same time.

Don't even get me started on these shoes! I absolutely love when brides think outside the box with their wedding footwear. Gone are the days of white heels (yay!). These vintage inspired shoes are one of the hottest trends right now.

Oh how we love the rich colors of Fall. Putting pops of these colors into your bouquet is a great way to subtely introduce Autumn themes into your wedding. Not everything to do with Fall has be orange. This lovely bouquet is filled with burgandy, rose, pale pink, and lavender and definitely gives off the Autumn vibe without being over the top.

Who doesn't love a good caramel apple? What an adorable little treat to serve guests on a beautiful Autumn evening. We love this little tutorial from The Last Detail.

Planning a wedding can be stressful, but when you see all your hard work come together on your wedding day, it is so worth it! One of our favorite parts of being wedding photographers is seeing all the personal touches that our amazing couples put into their big day. Every detail is carefully thought out and beautifully displayed.... and who doesn't love getting a cute invitation like this one in the mail?

Back to school!

It's that that time of year again! Our kids are starting school this week after a busy & fun summer. They are so stoked to be in their new classrooms and to meet new friends. We are also super excited about some awesome shoots coming up this fall. We have some amazing shoots on the books for the next little while. Be sure to watch for them!

Cake Smashing // Lethbridge Photography

We love weddings and photographing couples in love, but every once in a while it is kind of fun to switch gears and photograph something completely different. This handsome little man belongs to some amazing friends of ours and he just celebrated his first birthday. Everybody knows that the best way to celebrate a birthday is with cake... and lots of it! Garrett liked his cake so much that he had the whole cake smashed and eaten in a matter of  5 minutes flat. :)
